Visit Guide

Memo to Owners

If you want a trip to the grooming salon to be as comfortable as possible, you need to follow a number of simple rules. There are no complications and no special training is required. But, with our experience, we would like to give some tips to help your pet tolerate all the procedures more easily and save both you and us time.

Preparing for Visit

How to Prepare Your Pet

1

Do not wash your pet before going to the salon

If you wash the animal and do not brush it properly, the groomer's work becomes many times harder, and in some cases impossible — for example, combing out matted coat. Only light brushing is allowed the day before!

2

Do not feed your pet 2–3 hours before the procedure

If the visit is in the morning, it's better to skip breakfast entirely. A full pet handles procedures worse: the food may not settle, the pet will need the toilet, gets restless and interferes with the groomer — and in the worst case, behaves aggressively.

3

Take your dog for a walk before procedures begin

Haircutting a dog is quite a long procedure. Therefore, when coming to the salon, the animal should feel calm, preferably even a little tired, unnecessary energy should not be turned to the groomer. Otherwise - any procedure will inevitably increase in time.

4

Be sure to mention your pet's peculiarities

Before the procedure, the groomer carefully examines the animal and sees everything on the skin and body of the animal, but such things as cardiovascular diseases or other health abnormalities can only be known by the owner. Warts, sores, scars, growths on the dog's skin, allergies, surgeries - all of these things should be mentioned before the visit! This will keep your pet safe and make our job easier.

Also, be sure to talk about the dog's personality, if the animal may be aggressive, or if the animal has had a negative experience with haircuts before.

5

Get vaccinations and ectoparasite treatment

Every owner must carefully monitor the health of his quadruped friend: timely vaccination, coat treatment, regular dehelminthization. Before going to the salon, the animal must be treated against ectoparasites and vaccinated.

6

Don't spend too much time transporting your pet

It is not worth spending a lot of time on transportation. Especially during the hot season. An animal that is on the road for too long feels tired, uncomfortable, anxious, and has an increased risk of heat stroke. If, however, the road was long and excruciating - take your pet for a walk to calm him down. If you carried the cat in a carrier, take it out and hold it in the car.

7

Don't stay in the salon during the procedure

We know you'd love to watch — but with the owner around, pets act up twice as much: they squirm off the table, whine and keep looking back. Alone with the groomer, they calm down within minutes. Take a walk nearby — we'll call as soon as the beauty is done.

8

Pick up your pet on time

After the procedures your pet is waiting for you — and the longer the wait in an unfamiliar place, the bigger the stress. When booking online you can see how long the visit takes, and the groomer will let you know when you can pick up.

Important

When not to go to the groomer

During pregnancy

A pregnant animal behaves very restlessly. There is a lot of support through the belly when shearing, so the dog may become nervous, anxious and aggressive.

When an animal is in heat

During this period the pet is restless and won't let anyone near. The next guests suffer too: a male dog coming in afterwards smells the scent and can't stay put — grooming becomes impossible.

During illness

Do not shear a dog that is sick or not feeling well. For example, with symptoms of vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, runny nose or fresh wounds.

Without pre-treatment for parasites

If your dog has a thick coat, the groomer might not notice ticks under it and clip them with the machine — removing the tick whole then becomes much harder. Fleas, in turn, spread across the salon instantly, putting every tail-wagging guest after you at risk. That's why the pet must be treated against ectoparasites before the visit.

If for some reason you can not come at the agreed time - let us know 24 hours before the appointment.
