Briefly about the essentials: the care of dogs with SHORT and TWO types of hair

This type of wool consists of two "layers": the upper, which is characterized by coarseness and stiffness, and the lower, softer. The outer layer of wool is called the protective layer, and the inner layer is called the undercoat. The protective layer of wool is designed to protect against water, dirt and UV rays, and the undercoat is for thermoregulation, to keep warmth in winter and coolness in summer.  For a better understanding we will list a few representatives of these coat types: Beagle, Labrador, German Shepherd.

Due to shedding or a desire to "save from the heat", owners of these breeds may shave their pet, which should not be done categorically. Machine shaving poses a great risk of heat stroke.
